Walter Masyk was born on September 19, 1955, in Neu-Ulm, Germany to Mykola "Mike" and Anna (nee Zawalij) Masyk. He died Saturday, March 5, 2022, Hoffman Estates.
Mr. Masyk worked as a Certified Tool and Die Maker for DT Industries (formerly Mid-West Automation Systems, Inc.) in Buffalo Grove for 17 years. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Walter loved music, playing guitar, rock hunting, metal detecting, Astronomy, camping, museums, and any and all documentaries about Aliens and Oak Island. He was also an avid reader and loved researching books on Alternative Medicine and Nutritional Healing. Walter loved to spend time with family and was loved by all.
Walter is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Anita “Carol” (nee Boggs); siblings, Erika (Niles) McMaster, John (Chris) Masyk and Mary (John) Bakulski; brother-in-law, Chester Riske; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lydia Riske; and nephew, Michael McMaster.
Visitation Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 9:15 am, Friday, March 11, 2022, at the funeral home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
