William P. Schultz

Of Palatine

William P. Schultz was born on April 16,1940 in Kankakee, IL to Clarence and Laura (nee Janssen) Schultz. He passed away on Monday June 21, 2021, at his home.

Bill worked in a variety of roles for UOP in Des Plaines for over 30 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the University of Chicago. Bill was the loving father of his three children. He was a devoted grandfather, spending much of his time as a spectator at their sporting events. He had a passion for hunting and fishing developing some lifelong friendships in the process. Bill was known for his sense of humor, love of life and pride in the relationships he had both with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his spouse of for over 50 years, Mary Ellen (nee Delporte), children, Michael (Debbie) Schultz; Mary Kay (Tim Grace) and Stephanie (Mike) Furlong; grandchildren, Maegan and Jessica Schultz, Collin and Connor Furlong; sisters, Norma Gall and Wilma Richards; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Schultz, Lois Ford, Marilyn Blankenberg and his parents.

Memorial Visitation Service is Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 10:00 am until the 1:00 pm. Memorial Service will be held at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
