Dear Sharon, Bob, and ALL of your Dad’s family, We were privileged to enjoy the Birthday party at your home with all the Tomko Legacy of family in Whitewater.  Such a great time together, good food, good fellowship....good fun.   It is the end of an Era....may Peace and Joy be Bill’s reward...with our Savior Jesus...  He has fought the good fight.... On behalf of WTTW we are so grateful for the Tomcko family's gift in memory of William and we are so glad he enjoyed WTTW for so many years.

The volunteers, flight team and board of Badger Honor Flight mourn the loss of their hero, William Tomcko. We are thankful for his military service and proud to have served him on his trip to Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2019.

Bill ("Mot") Tomcko was the first employee at Hill Engineering, hired by my father, Reese Hill, in 1951.  He and my dad had a few WII war stories they were willing to tell later in life. That was another bond they shared. Bill had a great diemaking skills and work ethic, and at the same time kept everyone's spirits up with his crazy sense of humor. My wife, Nancy, tells the story of when we were first married and me waking her up in the middle of the night talking in my sleep saying "Mot, Mot, he's such a funny guy!" He was a strong man and a kind man with a big heart, who relished the training of younger guys coming up in the tool & die making trade--I was one of those youngsters. And speaking of youngsters, he was always bragging about his family. Bill ("Mot") will always be in our hearts and in our memories from "the good old days". Don Hill

To my Grandpa Bill, who was there to help support and celebrate the big moments in my life. He was a consumente friend who always was up for a joke and a laugh. I remember times with him at his house and working in the garage on Gibbons, playing golf with Grant and him, dinners at The Olive Garden with Grandma, and so many other countless times together.   Gpa, I’ll miss your laugh, smile, and jokes. Rest In Peace and enjoy the next chapter!

Wally and I will always remember Bill with great fondness. From his wonderful stories ( that we could recite along with him!) and his old adages and funny one-liners. I could always get a good chuckle from him, especially when we would celebrate our April birthdays together at Paddy's Pub, one of his favorite haunts. I am honored to have called Bill my father-in-law these past 35 years. He leaves us with  memories of smiles, laughter, and good-natured jabs that so many of us will cherish for the rest of our lives. Certainly a highlight for me was the opportunity to accompany him to Washington DC on the Badger Honor Flight in April of 2019. He was the oldest of five WWII vets to fly to DC with us that day. The love and respect for each veteran on that trip was something I will never forget. May you rest In peace, Bill. It's been one heck of a ride!

It was always a joy to greet Bill after Mass at St. Patrick Parish Whitewater. He was cheerful and fun to talk to, even as a line of other folks gathered behind him to get out of church. I will miss him very much! Fr. Mark

My name is Julie Vodak, and I was blessed to have known Bill for the six and a half years he lived at Fairhaven.  I have many  fond memories of Bill.  He was extremely proud when I memorized one of his sayings.  He would ask, "What is the definition of life?"  And I would answer,  "Life is a definite combination of hydrogenous changes, both simultaneous,  and successive in sequences. "  I'm  not sure if he was joking as he asked with a twinkle in his eye, "Where did you learn that?"  He also looked forward to attending Saturday evening Holy Mass and then stopping for a burger and a shake from Culver's. He remained a  proud Navy Veteran and was thrilled to go on his Honor Flight with Bob. I thank you, his family,  for sharing him with me. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers . Bill, seems like you were able to "Get on the first stage out of town"  before me! Until we meet again... My deepest sympathies,  Julie Vodak

Grandpa was one of those guys who was guaranteed to always crack me up, whether it was a clean joke, a dirty joke, or just a famous Grandpa quote - and believe me, there are plenty of them.  Although he was taken from us way sooner than he should've been as far as I'm concerned, I believe his new life in the afterworld will be a beautiful journey for him - one that I hope inspires all of us who loved him to smile and remember a truly great man who not only brought happiness into our lives, but also served this great country.  May you rest peacefully.

Dad, I will always remember all of the things you did for us. I am so thankful. You so enjoyed coming to visit for Silo pizza and burger night at The Grille. You were a great travel companion, always up for a trip. Though you weren’t the biggest pet lover, I truly believe you missed Hans when he passed. We already feel your loss, but we know you are in peace. Fair winds and following seas, Barb & the family

I am so very proud of my father and will miss most of all his smile and laugh. Unfortunately Covid  took him away from my family,as I it has hundreds of thousands other families. I believe that he was proud to have been in the Navy during WW2 and extremely proud of his family. Rest in peace Dad until we meet again.

Dad will be greatly missed. Brandon was right with the hi ya! How about "See you next spring, if I can get thru the mattress!"It's just hard to imagine him not being here anymore. Well, I hope he's up there visiting everyone that has passed before him! A lot of catching up to do! He always had a smile for you. May he be healthy and happy in his next life. Love you Bill!
