Winifred "Winnie" PowersFormerly of Arlington Heights"Winifred "Winnie" Powers was born January 21, 1923 in Chicago to Fred and Marie Grow. She was born into eternal life February 11, 2015.Loving wife and mother and close friend to many, Winnie exuded an optimism, confidence and warm glow of laughter and excitement that made her the life of every conversation, gathering and party. Winnie was an artist and interior decorator by trade during her career. In her later years Winnie was a minister of care for St. Edna"s Church in Arlington Heights.Winnie is survived by her children Charles (Karen) Powers, Patricia (Michael) Brennan and Michael (Jean) Powers; her grandchildren Jeff (Karen), Jenny (Rick), Mandy (Jeremiah), Alena (Chris), Meghan (John), Daniel, Shannon, Alison, Erika and Anna; her great grandchildren Kali, Skyla, Lucas, Jaiden, Nathan, Lea, Justin, Oliver, Jack and Emmitt.She was preceded in death by her husbands Charles Franklin and Ray Powers; her siblings Fred Jr. (Dolores) Grow and Dolores (Jim) Fors and by her parents.Visitation Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9:00 AM until time of mass at 10:00 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
