Betty Louise Eilts

Betty was born on May 15, 1934, in Lake City Iowa, and grew up on a farm outside Lake City, Iowa. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1952 and attended Beautician school, eventually, she owned a salon in Lake City. Betty married Marvin Eilts, in 1963. Betty worked in retail for May D&F(Denver) and Sanger-Harris, Foleys, and Macys(Arlington) in the China department until her retirement in the mid-90s.

Her family includes her son Steven Flash Eilts, wife Steffany and grandson Kordell Eilts, and several nephews and nieces, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Eilts, her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.

Like her Mother and Sisters, Betty loved to bake and thrilled family, friends, and the Holy Cross Prime Timer group with her cookies, muffins, chocolate raspberry dessert, and pies. Betty also thoroughly enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and any game where a Midwest team was playing. She would root for Iowa State when they played Iowa saying they were closer to home(Buttolph nephews, Mark Hansen). Betty and Marv were avid travelers and enjoyed their trips to family gatherings in Vail, Branson, and fish fries in Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church building fund in her memory. 4401 W Arkansas Lane Arlington, TX 76016.

The family would like to thank the Fleurdeley’s Assisted Living caring staff, and Wings over Texas Hospice for their comfort and attentive care in her final days. We would also like to thank Jaime Borek of Holy Cross for all her visits and prayers with Betty along with keeping the Holy Cross family updated.

A visitation for Betty will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4400 W Arkansas Ln, Arlington, TX 76016. A committal service - if you are able to attend you are free to join the family will occur Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM(arrive 10:15) at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
