Charles Daniel Herring

Charles Daniel Herring, age 85 of Midlothian, passed away on January 17, 2018. He was born on December 2, 1932 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Steve Herring and Gladys Burke Herring. Charles married Sydney Lancaster in 1970 and they celebrated nearly 50 years together before his passing.

Charles was proud of his family and will be remembered for his kind soul and love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Charles served in the U.S. Navy. In his younger years, he had a love for motorcycles, playing football, and boxing (in which he was a member of the Golden Gloves). He enjoyed reading and making people laugh with his witty sense of humor.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sydney; children Stacia Broom and husband Mike Jr., Stephen Herring and wife Lara, Brad Herring and wife Candy, Greg Herring and wife Rose, Karen Herring, Danny Herring and wife Debra, and Sherri Hart and husband Neil. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Don and Robert.

Visitation will be 6-8pm on Monday, January 22 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home. Graveside service and Military Honors will be 10am Tuesday, January 23 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse.
