While New Orleans native Eddie Sanders may have spent his whole life in a wheelchair unable to speak or care for himself, he lived a life filled with love and joy. Eddie died on Wednesday at his home. He was 45. Eddie had a heart full of love, compassion and mischief. One of his greatest joys in life was aggravating his family and friends. He loved spending time in his man-cave watching soap operas and his beloved classic sitcoms. Although Eddie was not able to talk, he was a source of inspiration to many, even those he never knew. Many people expressed that they were able to make difficult decisions simply by meeting him. Eddie was a long time member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Mansfield, where he was a 3rd degree knight with the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his parents, Howard and Marsha Sanders, sisters Lori Sanders Meo and Robyn Sanders Curtiss, beloved nieces Brittany and Sarah Meo, grandmother Alma Garris, brother-in-law Ralph Curtiss, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loving caregiver Carolyn Wade.
