Reese spent most of his childhood in Garland and graduated in 1980 from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler. He built a successful career in commercial construction, earning a reputation for skill, reliability, and dedication.
A proud Mason, Reese was a member of Masonic Webb Lodge No. 331 in Mansfield and also attended Webb Baptist Church in Arlington.
Reese lived a life grounded in hard work, steadfast faith in God, and deep love for his family. Faith guided how he lived, worked, and served others. Above all, he was a devoted husband to his childhood sweetheart, Lisa, and a proud father to Brandon, Marilyn, and Nellie. He showed his love through steady presence, sacrifice, and unwavering support.
He could fix just about anything and rarely walked away from a challenge. Reese enjoyed riding his Harley, competing in chili cook-offs, fishing, hunting, and woodworking with his Uncle Louis. He loved coaching his daughters in soccer and investing time in the activities that mattered most to his family. He often reminded others, “Quitters never win.”
Reese is now whole and at peace in Heaven. Though he is deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he rests in God’s presence.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Shiflet) Goewert; son, Brandon Goewert (Arlington, TX); daughters, Marilyn Goewert and partner Christopher (Justin, TX), and Nellie (Goewert) Johnson and husband Tamãn Rashawn Johnson (Whitney, TX); Lisa’s children, Aaron Crawford and wife Cody (Grand Saline, TX), and Amanda Crawford and husband Andrew Becherer (Dripping Springs, TX); grandchildren Jaxon, Marley, and Maddox Goewert; Tamãn (TJ) Gerrod Johnson; Gail and Luke Crawford; sister Judy Michele (Shelly) Goewert (Arlington, TX); uncle and aunt Louis and Cindy Spiva (Alvarado, TX); niece Caylin Barton; mother-in-law Carol (Berry) Ballard (Dayton, TX); sisters-in-law Kimberly Shiflet (Dayton, TX) and Carla (Shiflet) Key (Leander, TX); along with many beloved cousins and extended family members.
