

Jack Travis Hill, age 88 of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2019, with his family at his side. He was born on December 12, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas. He was the son of Earl Travis Hill and Louise (Strickland) Hill. Jack married Mary Ella Mitchell on June 3, 1978, and they celebrated 41 wonderful years together.
Jack proudly served in the US Air Force, and later graduated from SMU with his Bachelor’s of Business Administration. Jack was a creative and hands-on man, who loved to travel, golf, paint, build and remodel homes. He also enjoyed the outdoors, landscaping and planting many, many trees at all of his homes. Jack was a wonderful businessman and worked as a VP of Finance, before taking ventures in several small businesses he and Mary ran together. Jack was a man of many talents, but his love for his family was the most important thing to him and the greatest gift he gave to his family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter Cathy Ballard and her husband Bruce Ballard; his daughter Laurie Purdy and her husband John Purdy; his daughter Holly Bishop and her husband Bruce Bishop; grandchildren Clay Harris and wife Jessica; Hayley Harris; Jaclyn Bishop, and Blake Bishop; twin great-grandsons Landry and Luke Harris; sister Betty Thomas; and many loving nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles Hill, John Hill, Robert Hill, and sister Kathleen Lincoln.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 30 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in honor of Jack Hill.
