Jackie was born in Odessa, Texas on July 18, 1956 to Jack Davis and Willie Fay Jones Davis. She moved with her parents to Enid, Oklahoma, where she attended elementary school in the North Enid School District and began twirling lessons and horseback riding. Her parents eventually bought her a horse, who quickly became her constant companion. Jackie enjoyed riding around the outskirts of town, especially to the Navaho Drive-In where she loved having lunch or afternoon treats mounted atop her beloved pony.
In 1969, the Davis family moved 20 miles south to Hennessey, Oklahoma, where Jackie became active in the Hennessey High School band as a clarinetist and was named ‘Band Queen’ during her senior year. She twirled her way through four years of high school and continued competing at state and national levels, where she earned top honors. Her love for twirling remained throughout her lifetime, eventually inspiring her to become a Certified Twirling Judge.
Jackie graduated from Hennessey High School in 1974 and enrolled in the fall semester at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Following her freshman year, she moved back to Odessa with her parents and completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
After graduation, Jackie moved to Southern California and began working for St. Paul Insurance Companies, Inc. She met Ric Frederick of California, and they married on July 6, 1986 on the Caribbean island of St. Thomas. In 1992, Jackie and Ric made their home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area after she was transferred by her employer. Jackie and Ric were blessed with a daughter, Pamela Fay, who was only six months old when Ric passed away. Jackie had a long career in the insurance business, most recently working for BITCO before falling ill.
Jackie and Pamela loved animals of all kinds and opened their home to many. They took every opportunity to visit nearby zoos during their many cross-country road trips. Jackie was a member of Calvary Chapel in Arlington, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, cousin Jimmy Reese Bell, and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her loving daughter; lifelong friend, Vicki Schieferstein; mother and father-in-law, Barb and Bil Frederick; sister-in-law, Jackie Frederick Ramirez; niece, Lauren; her beloved pets, Orca, Faylynn, Twigger, Mikey, Zachary, and Dorian; and many friends.
A memorial service for Jackie will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Moore Bowen Street Funeral Home, 4216 S Bowen Rd, Arlington, Texas 76016 with Pastor Jeff Andis of Calvary Chapel (Arlington) officiating.
