Joann Perkins

April 11, 1936 – February 20, 2022

Joann Sanford Perkins passed from this life on February 20th, 2022. She was born April 11th, 1936 in Maydelle, Cherokee County, Texas. Her parents were Rayford and Nora Bingham Sanford. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor Shelton Perkins Jr.; her parents; three sisters, Mildred Roach, Jessie Webb, and infant Vera May Sanford; one brother, Ray Sanford; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In 1958 she married Victor Shelton Perkins, Jr. Together they were proud parents of three surviving children, Mark Perkins and his wife Brenda of Kennedale, Texas; Lynn Bradford and her husband Wayne of Burnet, Texas; and Steve Perkins and his wife Sheila of Cotopaxi, Colorado. She is also survived by grandchildren Chris Perkins and wife Mandi of Arlington, Texas; Kara Cucinotta and husband Mike of Fort Worth, Texas; Kamryn Perkins and Landen Pearce of Cotopaxi, Colorado; and two great granddaughters, Morgan Perkins and Blake Cucinotta, with a third on the way. She is also survived by her beloved companion of 14 years, Gary Burger, nieces, nephews, and numerous neighbors and very special friends, many of whom she thought of and treated as immediate family.

Visitation will be at Moore Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas from 6 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, February 24th. A graveside service and interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Maydelle, Texas, on Friday, February 25th, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
