Personal questions will be asked of me by others regarding information you will not wish to acknowledge when you appear troubled, and your personal challenges are to remain within and talk with God to find the to show me the way. I guess I always opened up to you because you were a Saint and The Goddess of Athenia, with ALL the right answers to whatever was bothering me. Most times I would confide in you were usually at the beauty shop while waiting for our turn for a new DO, and at those times I didn't talk because I wanted to listen to one of the smartest and wisest women I knew, and a friend with class (I might add) who I could trust with the greatest of honor by learning true and meaningful lessons in life through your guidance. You always wore that beautiful glow of a movie star with your inner beauty that shined from within which was contagious to all, and that's only one reason you have so many BEST friends who love you!  You and Cecil will never leave our hearts, and don't worry Mama Melba, Frank, Miss Persis, Persis Ann, and Belva and I will take great care of Jane, and make sure she behaves herself. (That was a funny of course!)  All of my love to you from the 1965 Shady Valley days until the day I join you with a big fat hug and a kiss. I can only thank you for always treating me as one of your own and teaching me your unique and charasmatic ideals and morals to lead a fruitful, happy, and successful life.

To Melba's family,
I know these are tough days. I also know there is a sense that things are better for Melba now. She was a dear friend to Zora Bontley who remembers her sweetness. We are thinking of you all.
