Yesterday I was looking up some old friends from back in the day.  I am very saddened to hear that Mike passed away a few years ago.   Mike, Ed and their Mom moved into our apartment building in Torrance back in the early 80’s.   Mike was a good friend.  He wasn’t perfect --- who is?  But he always had a good heart and if you were his friend – he had your back 24/7.   Was a really good athlete as well and an intense competitor! Guess they moved out around 1986 or 87.   I lost track of him as we moved out soon after.  Condolences to friends and family.  RIP Mike.  – Eric Mooney

Today would of been your 47th birthday.  I don't think an hour passes ever that I don't think about and miss you.  Love you forever.

It has been 2 years since your accident.  It still hurts as much today as it did then........ I miss you so much..   I am still getting my 143's everyday.  Please always send them.  Sometimes its that message from you that gets me through the day.  Love you forever.

I don't think I'll ever feel the same about this week leading up to the 31st, or ever feel that this day is a day meant for celebration.  I can't imagine how much you would absolutely adore your new granddaughter who you never got to meet, it's a tragedy amongst tragedies really.

Still remember and miss you more everyday Dad!!  Two years ago today, you were finishing up that motorcycle trailer and painting it.  Two years ago today you woke up and went to bed on your own will.  Two years ago today, you had no idea what was in store for the next day.  No clue that the next time you woke up, you wouldn't wake up again.  You were such a great father and you never even had to be!  I knew that you always had my back no matter how frustrated you were with me!  You were always there when we needed something even though we were not always there when you needed something!   I wish that you were still here, I wish that I could call to BS or to ask something.  I wish that we can do a project (well, you do, i watch lol).  I wish I could see your hands working!  I wish I can hear you saying something stupid!  I wish I had my Dad!  I love you and miss you Dad!

Today I went to the jobsite for the first time.  I promised myself I wouldn't go past a year.  I didn't know what to expect.  but I felt peace. I know that your with me with every step I take through this journey Ive been forced to take.  I have come to the realization that God does have a plan for us and you were only meant to be here for as long as you were. I know you are in a better place. Although we didn't get to spend much time with you while you were here... :( I know deep in my heart you would've been a great grandfather to my kids... I know you spoiled baby girl-Dorianne... She loves you and misses you, still remembers the day at the pool shooting hoops... Drew a picture of you as angel, as what you are now to all of us... I still remember when you asked about more grand babies :( so sad you won't be here to care for them, hug them and love them as the loving husband, father, brother, grandpa and father in law you were.. I remember when you showed me the picture of honey as a kid and these were your words... " you see that kid there, this is how your babies will look" lol you laughed and I smiled... :) we all miss you dearly, honey and I have accomplished a lot, I know you'd be proud of us... 
Just know that life will never be the same with out you..

Maybe it does get 'easier' with time, but easier doesn't mean 'better'.  It doesn't really matter how much 'easier' it gets anyways, it still doesn't make it any more right or fair that you are not with us anymore.  My biggest regret was that I never reflected on your life and value as much until it was no longer here to celebrate.  For me, it's actually getting harder, because it's almost as if everyday passes and I remember a memory that I had once forgotten.

I don't know who ever it was that said it was easier with time, but I do know that it's not true.  I truly believe that it's harder with time.  The easier must come from somewhere that we wouldn't think about it as much, which is probably true.  But I think it is harder today than it was on NOV 1, and I don't know how to handle it.  You are such a great dad, such a great man, I HATE that you're not here.  All you did was go to work just like anyone one else but you didn't come home that day.  It's not right and this whole thing is a disaster in my eyes.  If it wasn't for Christ, I know that I wouldn't be able to even live the everyday life in a normal pattern.  It's true, you think about it less, but man, when you think about it, it eats you!  I remember working with you and things that we did since I was a kid.  I've always known how your hands look.  It is impossible to bear that I will never see those hands again.  You being gone strikes me down, making me weaker than I could ever had imagined.  The sound of your voice makes me sick to my stomach that I can't even listen to the audio anymore.  I hate that you're not here.  I look at a lot of these pictures, knowing that none of us thought in our wildest nightmares that something like this would happen.  I miss you dearly.  I love you and still wish that I can wake up from this tragedy.  All I can do is doing nothing for me.  I pray that your soul rest in peace and that a piece of you always stays with me.  I pray that when I get into a situation that I would generally call you for advice that you somehow give me the knowledge that you would have given me before. Hey Dad,

I hope that you can see and read these messages from Heaven.  I love and miss you dearly.  I was at the movie theater that was by your accident tonight.  I decided to stop and spend some time with the place that you purposely breathed fresh air, the spot that you were probably giving Roger a hard time, or bragging about something you had going on.  The last place that you drove a vehicle into, the last spot that your eyes, in flesh, seen this world.  It brakes my heart to know that that is the place you were taking away from us.  It's been four months, four long and drag outed months.  Anytime I go to your house I still long to see you there.  A couple of weekends ago, I went to your house to do some yard work and I had to go in your garage again.  It made me woozy and depressed.  Honesty, anywhere I go that I have a memory of you, it makes me this way.  I tried tonight to wonder exactly what you were doing one October 28th at that job site.  I even tried to hear your voice.  I did.  I hear your goofy laugh along with something dumb in its own funny way.  I remember working with you, the story you tell EVERYONE and I've always despised.  When I was a young boy (but thought I was a man), working with you in the Wylie area.  We were lashing cable.  I was 15, maybe 16 years old.  I had that radio blaring and was driving the boom.  You couldn't get my attention so you threw that roller.  Somehow, someway, that roller got through the open window and hit my leg square on.  I cried like a baby.  It cripples me to know that, even though I couldn't stand that story, that I will never hear you tell it again.  You are, and always have been, an Idol of mine.  I hope that one day pain will be no more.  I hope that you are smiling down on us from the Heavens at this very moment.  Dad, I wish you were hear to tell me to stop talking to my mom like that, or that I needed to act right.  The tattoo of your remembrance says Dad, not stepdad or 2nd dad, because to me, that is who you are.  That's who you will always be.  I love you dad and miss you dearly.  Right now I must go but I want you to know that your always on my heart and always in my mind.  Although things will never be the same without you, I hope you leave us signs of you in time. I miss you Dad. I wish I'd wake up or something.   Sometimes this whole situation makes me crumble like a cookie.  I don't like to tjink about it.  I love you.

There are so many things that I can say about Mike that I never told him to his face.  I regret not ever letting him now how much I appreciated how much he had done for my mom, myself, my brothers and my daughters.  I regret the way that I treated him when I was younger, as knowing him the way I do now, I can wholeheartedly say that he definitely deserved better.  It's amazing how looking back on a life after it's gone, how you see the details that you never saw before.  We were all truly blessed for having him for the time that we did, and I cannot imagine any place for Mike, but in heaven nearest to God.  Only thing I can really think of at this point is God must have needed a handy man who could figure out just about anything, because that's what he got.  Love and miss you Mike.  You will never be forgotten.

Michael you were a one in a million man. From your beginnings you rose above and created a extraordinary love and legacy with JoAnne, Travis, Michael & Carl, your granddaughters and your westies.  You life touched a lot of people in many ways. May you have peace & comfort in knowing you made a difference.  Love you always my personal moving guy.

Mike was the new outgoing neighbor who quickly became known as my "new bff" to my family.  He and I spent a lot of time getting to know each other in our front yards, garages, and backyards.  I will greatly miss his infectious smile as he exclaimed "Mr Jack! What's up!" as I would get out of my car.  I helped him and he helped me repair, lift, perfect, clean, etc, so many things in 3 years.  He was so gifted with his hands and was not afraid to work on anything!  Also, he always had so many good things to say about JoAnne, his boys, Ryan, and his grandkids.  He would drop everything to schedule and spend time with all of them. You all were very special to him.  I also have enjoyed getting to know many of you better.  I pray that God would comfort you at this time, and continue to bless you with the great memories he left and the amazing love he had for each of you.  He was truly a unique man with special qualities.  Our garages will not be the same, and I am blessed to have had him as a friend and neighbor.

We always waved to each other when I would pull up into my drive, and he would be cheerily puttering around in his garage. I will miss my neighbor. May your next life be filled with joy!

Sorry to hear about our Henkels buddy Mike.  Will miss getting after him about smoking his "gummy bears" and wearing his prescription sun glasses in our work center.  He was a great guy who always made sure we were having a good day when he came in.  May you be at peace.

To Mike, whether it was telling us the likely cause of a noise one of our cars might be making, helping to get a mower to start, letting my dog see you work on 'guy stuff' in your driveway, or offering to help with virtually anything, your were a nice neighbor and a nice man...you will be missed.  
To JoAnne, we pray for you and hope God's presence will help you and your family cope during this time.
