Robert was born April 12 1956 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Lawrence and Dorothy Maheu. He was the youngest of four children; sisters Cherry Wells, Donna Stacey and brother Mikeul (Larry) Maheu. Robert joined the US Army in 1973 and was honorably discharged. He then worked at American Manufacturing of Texas in Fort Worth as an over the head crane operator until 1980. From 1980-1990 he worked at Jet Research Center in Alvarado, Tx with explosive ordnance. In 1988 he married Karen Maheu and in his heart adopted a new daughter Deidre. In April 1989 he welcomed his second daughter Monica. Robert attended Truck Driving school in Dallas, Tx in 1990 which was the start of his 20 year journey as an over the road truck driver. In 2010 he retired and picked up new hobbies of interest such as woodworking, gardening, collecting swords, knives, die cast cars and trucks and building model train sets. Throughout the years he welcomed three grandchildren Steven Jr, Jordyn and Kensli. On September 23, 2021 Robert was received into heaven leaving behind his ex wife/ best friend Karen Maheu, his two daughters Deidre Santiago and Monica Maheu and his three grandchildren Steven Santiago Jr, Jordyn Santiago and Kensli Maheu, Son-in-law Steven Santiago Sr, and lastly his niece of close, Terra Jean Johnston. Preceded in death are his parents Lawrence Maheu and Dorothy Holt, his Stepfather Harry Holt, his brother Mikeul (Larry) Maheu, father-in-law Bert Marks, brother-in-law Kenneth Marks and niece Heather Marks.
