I have been working with Alex on his music for the last three years. Although we never met in person, I really considered him a friend. He never told me about his health condition, I had no idea he was struggling. Steve messaged me about the sad news and I was truly shocked. I have never asked Alex about his plans with the songs and the reason for the massive output of music he recorded in these past years, but I never thought he was in this kind of a hurry. I feel deeply saddened - all I can say is that I'm glad we had such a fruitful creative collaboration in the last years of his life. I really enjoyed the communication we had, he was such a cool, talented, and intelligent man. I always talk about him as an example for an ideal, smooth professional relationship. I'll miss that very much! I extend to his family my deep and sincere condolences. May he rest in peace!

Alec and I spent over forty years as friends. We first met when we were on the same electronics course in Glasgow College of Technology along with Brian Cunningham. We shared a common love of rock concerts and music and stayed in touch through the years.  I will always remember the laughter from our adventures together. Alec was a great observer of the human condition and could find humour in the most ordinary of things and events. He also had a great repertoire of jokes. I could always know that I would split my sides laughing whenever he started a sentence along the lines of “Dave, a guy walks into a shoe shop .....”
