Andrew Clifton Alford

November 20, 2004-April 11, 2014

Andrew, the son of Louisa Ann Marinaccio and Eugene Alford IV, both of Arlington, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2014. Andrew, a third grader at Long Branch Elementary School, was an avid baseball and basketball player in the Arlington sports community, a Bear Scout in Pack 104 at Clarendon Methodist Church, and a martial arts enthusiast at Evolve All Martial Arts. Andrew is also survived by his loving extended family, including grandparents Charles and Meta Marinaccio of The Villages, Florida, Eugene and Peggy Alford of Atlanta, and Carol Alford and Woody Dewig of Santa Barbara. He leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents and dear friends, including Molly Sim and Lauren and Colby Gustafson of Alexandria.

A community celebration will be held at 6:45 p.m. on May 10 at Barcroft Park baseball field #1, bringing together the many groups and people who love and miss Andrew. A private burial is planned at Columbia Gardens Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Andrew Alford Memorial Project through the Arlington Little League to support improvements of the Long Branch ball field where he played nearly every day.
