Passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in Manassas, VA.
Betty Ruth MacDonald was born December 10, 1925, in Detroit Michigan. Ruth lived in Arlington, Virginia for 45 years with her husband of 63 years, Ralph E. MacDonald until his passing in 2010. Mrs. MacDonald earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Wayne State University and sang in many choirs. She had a love of animals and volunteered at the Arlington Welfare League. Mrs. MacDonald is survived by her two sons; Glenn E MacDonald, Brian A MacDonald and one daughter; Donna L MacDonald, also four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will take place at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA. following service.
