Cathleen Anne Sheehan

Cathleen Anne Sheehan, June 3, 1949-June 28, 2025. Mother of James Patrick (Michele) Wilson and Terrence Sheehan (Veronica) Wilson. Grandmother to Alexandra Rose Wilson, Shannon Riley Wilson, James Per Wilson, and Ryan Tate Wilson. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Attended Our Lady Help of Christians Elementary School in Midwood and St. Edmund High School in Sheepshead Bay. She was a rabid fan of both the New York Yankees and New York Giants, but no more so than of her sons' track and basketball teams at Regis High School.

Ms. Sheehan was a registered nurse for over 40 years in New York City, working as an emergency room nurse and critical care nurse at Kings Highway Hospital, Maimonides Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, St. Vincent's Hospital, Bellevue Hospital and New York - Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, among others. She also served as a home health aide, often pulling multiple shifts in one day to provide for her children. Near the end of her career, she served as a departmental administrator at Maimonides, helping to modernize and revitalize the department. Even after her retirement, she remained active in health care, working as a volunteer at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.

She retired from nursing after a stroke in 2013. She relocated to Arlington, VA in 2018 to be closer to her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Cathleen is preceded in death by her mother Virginia Eileen (d. June 7, 2017) and her father James Patrick (d. July 9, 1979). Though an only child, she leaves behind an extended family of Wilsons, Sheehans, Spadaros, Reiters and Feeneys too numerous to count, but all deeply loved.

A Funeral Mass will be held on July 19, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 1315 E 28th St, Brooklyn, NY 11210. A reception will take place later that day at Knights of Columbus Council No. 126, 3051 Nostrand Ave. Brooklyn, New York 11229.
