IN THE CARE OF
Murphy Funeral Homes
Chuong Thai passed away peacefully at home in Arlington, VA on April 4, 2021. He was 98. Born in China, he and his parents left their native country to escape communism.
They moved to Vietnam where Chuong became a respected businessman with much success. There he met his beloved wife, Khe Dao, and together they had 12 children. When Vietnam was taken over by the Communist in 1975, Chuong lost his business plus properties and, once again, was forced to seek a new life afar.
In 1978, Chuong took his family out of Vietnam and eventually arrived in the United States in 1979. Even though he could not speak the language, he found work in the food service industry and worked tirelessly, without complaint, to provide for his family. He eventually retired after many years.
Chuong loved traveling, sports, and “dim sum” brunch. He was a skilled chess player. Above all, he was very dedicated to his family.
Chuong is survived by his large and loving family of 10 children, 24 grand-children and 4 great grandchildren.
