Deirdre Mary McHale

Deirdre was born on January 17, 1936 to Charles and Irene Wyatt in Twickenham, England. She received a degree in Early Childhood Development while still living in England and held positions in childcare.

In 1954, she met Eugene P. McHale in Brighton, England. They wed in 1957 and went on to have three children; Shaun, Sarah and Susan.

After moving to the US with her husband and son in 1960, she continued work in her trained field, working at Sugar Plum Day Nursery and NOVA Child Development Center.

In 2008, Deirdre welcomed her greatest joy - her grandson, Aidan Harris-McHale.

Family came first and was above all else to Deirdre, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Our mother was one of the kindest and most generous women we knew and we were blessed to have her as the head of the family. She was an excellent mom, supportive, kind, and generous to all around her.

Deirdre is predeceased by her husband, Eugene P. McHale, and parents, Charles and Irene Wyatt. She is survived by her son, Shaun McHale; daughters, Sarah McHale McGuire and Susan McHale; her grandson, Aidan Harris-McHale; and son-in-law, Patrick McGuire. She is also survived by her sister, Muriel Ilenin and nephews, Noel and Jeremy.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Falls Church on January 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be held on Wednesday, September 13th @ 12:45pm at Arlington National Cemetery.
