

Dorothy E. Lobban was born on December 2, 1929, in White River, St. Ann, Jamaica, to Lucille and Ronald Gabidon. She passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, learning, and cultural pride.
Dorothy was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jasper Lobban, and a loving mother to her five children: Joy, Monty, Marco, Marlon, and Hugh. She was also a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
A passionate educator, Dorothy dedicated most of her life to teaching in Jamaica. She believed deeply in the power of education and touched the lives of countless students through her patience, wisdom, and commitment to learning. Beyond the classroom, Dorothy was an avid reader and found great pleasure in books throughout her life.
Dorothy was immensely proud of her Jamaican heritage and carried her culture with dignity and warmth wherever she went. Her strength, intellect, and love for family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
