John and Jennifer my thoughts and prayers are with you.  I have great memories of Gail and I out on the water in Occuquan while the girls did crew.  She always made me laugh even if we were in the rain waiting.  All my memories of Gail are good ones.

I was saddened to learn of Gail's death.  She was an excellent teacher at Oakridge & I was glad she was my colleague for a number of years.  I am sorry she didn't have a longer and healthier retirement.  My condolences go out to you, John and Jennifer, along with everyone who knew and loved Gail.

John and Jennifer I was deeply saddened and speechless at hearing of your great loss .I will always remember serving the neighborhood as a Postal employee  and the reception I received from you ,Gail, and others on this particular block of homes .It is and will remain priceless in my memory . My most cherished memories of Gail were the ones that centered on our gardens.  Given that Gail and I had a great interest in landscape design and the love of plants, I remember the times we would exchange ideas and discuss the different types of plants to consider for the various sections of our gardens.  We talked about the different types of foundation shrubs, perennials and trees.  I would always learn about new plants and trees that I should consider for the garden and would venture to Merrifield Garden Center to see the recommended plants.  Best of all, I remember how she would always shake her head when I talked about how I trimmed my Crape Myrtle trees and how she was horrified when I suggested she consider pruning her Crape's as I did.  We would always laugh at the idea.  Although we did not agree with how to prune a Crape Myrtle, we certainly agreed that the garden is like a room in a house and should be beautifully designed with the proper plantings.  Not only did we enjoy talking about our gardens, we also shared plants and perennials.  My garden is full of beautiful plants and perennials given to me by Gail; and I will always have great memories of Gail as I continue to see them grow and bloom each year in my garden.

John and Jennifer, I have great memories of Gail and those days at Oakridge.  I know that you will miss her but have wonderful memories.  I am sorry for your loss.

Gail was a great friend and neighbor for over 30 years. Her generosity, humor and grace, particularly during the course of her illness, were truly inspiring.

Our family is very sad to learn that Mrs. Phillips has passed away. She was an outstanding teacher whom we had the good fortune of knowing. It was a true pleasure to observe how she connected with each student in her second grade class according to the student's unique learning style and personal needs and abilities. Her ability to integrate her passion for both science and art into her teaching were awe-inspiring. Gail was the best friend anyone could ever have.  She was a a genius teacher whose students loved her.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, I will never forget her laugh.  We drove back eight hours from the beach one summer and laughed all the way.  She was kind, fair and always thoughtful. She was known to be an over tipper in a resturant.  I have so many great memories ,I will miss her very much.  John and Jen you are in my thoughts and I hope I can help you at is very difficult time .  May peace be with you.  Judy
