

On June 6, 2013 died peacefully at her Arlington, Virginia home; her son was present at her passing. Irmgard Wilma Karla Henriette Orlamuender was born on March 13, 1922 in Bremen, Germany and raised by her parents Oskar Hermann Heinrich Orlamuender and Ella Helene Johanne Kruse Orlamuender. She met her future husband, while they both worked as civilians for the U.S. Military Government in occupied Bremen, an American enclave at the time, shortly after World War Two. They married in Bremen, then settled in the Washington, D.C. area. Employed from 1950, first as assistant accountant supervisor, Trust Investment, American Security & Trust, main building, she retired in 1984 from what was to become Bank of America. She became a U.S. Citizen in 1952. Her husband, Edward Earl Erickson, Connecticut native and decorated U.S. Army combat veteran in the Asia-Pacific Theater worked at the Pentagon in the Defense Department until his death in 1959. She never remarried. Their only child, a son, Norbert Earl Erickson lives in Arlington. Surviving cousins in Germany have families in Germany and the United States.
