I was recently taking photo albums and old letters out of boxes and putting them into a closet in my apartment when I came across the letters and cards with Monika's name on them. I started to wonder what it happened to her because we lost touch after I went to Israel back in 1985. I come back but I was unable to get a hold of her at Bryn Mawr College and I did not know where her brother Kevin was any longer who I also used to send letters to as well as video tapes back when they were living in Honduras. Anyway I started looking around  but couldn't find her and none of my friends knew where she was. I subsequently got married in 1988 and then by chance I saw her in 1991 at a restaurant when I was out to eat with my ex but unfortunately she was in the middle of a argument with the young man she was with so I didn't feel as good time to come over and say hi to greet an old friend. Sadly that was the last time I saw her. Then I was looking online and now I see that tragically she has passed away which really has put a large knot in my stomach. We used to all get together with friends that I grew up with and she dated one of my very close friends at the time and we all had very good times together I remember how much she loves going to Bryn Mawr University and we would  write a great deal to each other back when we were both in our subsequent universities. She was very wonderful to me and very beautifully to me when my father was sick and then had passed away and was a really good support system at the time and I'll always remember her for that. As I'm writing this I'm really very freaked out by the whole idea but just wanted to share that She was a very special, sweet wonderful young woman,  a very good friend and I am really shaken up about her loss. I wish family her family love and respect for having raised and nurtured such a wonderful young woman. May her memory always be for many blessings to everyone whose lives she touched.

I was wondering what happened to my old friend Monika and I looked up her name to find she had died in 2013. I'm deeply disappointed to discover this news. She sent me a message many years back. It might have been around the time she was ill. I can't say for sure but I sure wish I had responded to that email now. She was energetic, effervescent, intelligent and beautiful. I loved being in her company. Our relationship began professionally over the branding and software development for her startup company Interlinguistics. I was her designer. It became more personal over time and I'd like to think for a moment, we mattered to each other. I can still vividly recall certain expressions on her face, her cat like eyes and  the sound of her sultry and sometimes girlish voice. I guess I had stronger feelings for her than I admitted to myself at the time. We were passing each other headed in different directions in our lives. I miss her and I'm so deeply saddened that she's gone. God speed Monika xoxo. Jerome  

I just found out that Monika has died a year ago. I'm so sad and beyond words. What an intelligent and wonderful person. We were friends in Philadelphia when she lived with Don G. I miss her so much.

When Monica came to the JFK school, she immediately made a big impression. I always thought she was the epidimy of the all-American girl (in all the best ways!).  I saw her again with Tube more than a decade after graduation - it was a terrific weekend.
Monica, you will be missed a lot!

I'm still so shocked and sad.  It's hard to imagine that I won't enjoy your quick wit, your laugh, your artistic genius, your kindness ever again.  RIP
