

On Saturday, September 12, 2015, Marek Czajkowski, a native of Connecticut, died at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, after a long illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Jan Wiktor and Weronika Janina Czajkowski of Connecticut.
Marek Czajkowski graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting in 1981 from Central Connecticut State [College] University. He also studied computers at Porter and Chester Institute. He was a member of the New Britain Police Department/Auxiliary Unit before joining the US Air Force in 1987. Marek Czajkowski retired from the Air Force in 2011 after a 24-year career, with assignments/deployments in the United States (Texas and Arizona), South Korea, England, Iceland, Bosnia, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. His favorite assignment was in England with life support of special operations. His last assignment was at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. While there, he worked life support for pararescue (with deployments to Afghanistan with the Pedros). He was an avid hiker, biker, runner/hasher, artist, and world traveler. After retiring from the Air Force, he served as a volunteer Ranger at the parks and forests of the state of Arizona.
He is survived by his sister, Dr. Eva Czajkowski; two nephews, Daniel Frederick and Artyom John Czajkowski; many cousins; an aunt; and many friends worldwide.
Funeral arrangements are being conducted by Murphy Funeral Home. Catholic Funeral Mass is set for Friday, September 25th at St. Agnes Church at 1 PM, 1910 N Randolph St, Arlington, Virginia, with calling hours at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, Virginia, from 11 AM to 12 PM. Burial is scheduled at Arlington National Cemetery, with full military honors, on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at 2:45PM.
