It's been a while since I have posted anything here, but that doesn't mean I miss you any less.  I miss you every day, but especially on special days like Thanksgiving.  I am working to carry on the traditions that you and Mom instilled in me.  We made "Pap-poo's stuffing" for Thanksgiving like we do every year.  I have fond memories of sitting at the table and tearing bread with you, stuffing celery, setting the table, making the sweet potatoes, Mom making the turkey "fly"....all things that I do with my family today.  Thank you for the love and the memories.

Ten years.  A decade without my Pap-poo.  A lot has happened in those ten years.  Every holiday and every birthday I am reminded of how she made those days special.  Heck, Pap-poo would make a normal day special.  

I miss our weekly grocery store trips, talks while I scratched her back, our Girl's Nights, helping her get ready for the holidays, seeing her reading the Mini Page, going to church with her, listening to her stories, admiring her art skills, watching her with my girls....the list goes on and on.

When Pap-poo left earth, it left a lot of big holes in a lot of people's hearts.  I'm so grateful for getting to spend so much time with her and look forward to eternity in heaven with her and my other loved ones there.

EIGHT YEARS.  Still so vivid in my mind.  I have such fond memories of you.  Hanging out on the side porch, trying new recipes, watching the soaps together, going to church, fun times grocery shopping at Safeway...the list goes on!  How I wish that your great grandchildren could hug you.  We all still miss you very much.

I lost a baby two years ago on the same date that we lost you.  I lost another baby this year who was due around your birthday.  I'm happy to know that they, along with my other baby, are in heaven with you and our other loved ones.  I find comfort in this.

Remembering you today, Pap-poo!  I know you are celebrating in heaven! So thankful you were born and for all the lives you touched. Love you and miss you every single day!

FIVE YEARS.  I can't believe it's been so long.  So many fond memories of girls' nights, crafts, helping me with things for my classroom, bed time chats, store trips, seeing Pap-poo with my girls.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about Pap-poo.  So, so thankful for all of the time we had with her.  Can't wait to see her again in heaven!

Three years have passed since you  went home to heaven.  We talked about some of the good times with you yesterday and looked at pictures of that infectious smile.  My family will forever miss you until we are reunited.  Thank you for the special lady you were here on earth.  We miss you and will until we see you again.  At least we can find peace in that. <3

This is a photo of Pap-poo on Christmas 2011.   I love how she either wore her red or green dress.  I use to love helping her with the famous cookie platter for Christmas Day.  So thankful we lived with her and that I have so many fond memories of her.

I keep wanting to post something, but can't find the words.  The pain of missing you has not gone away.  I think of you every day.  I see a bit of you in my girls and that makes me smile. So, so thankful for every second I had with you here on earth.  I MISS YOU.

Two years ago.  I can't believe that it has been that long.  I think about Pap-poo every day...literally.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of her or something triggers my brain of a memory of her.  I am forever grateful for the relationship I had with her.  

My girls still talk about her and I will make sure they know how awesome their great-grandmother was!  They think it is so cool that she has been in heaven with God for two years now. :)

I miss our talks, backscratches, girls nights, hugs, kisses--on both cheeks, her laugh, her voice--talking and singing and just being around her!!

It's been over a year now since my beloved Pap-poo went home to heaven.  I think about her daily.  

I especially was missing Pap-poo yesterday, on what would've been her birthday.  I will never forget her happy smile and her joyous laugh.  And who can forget her "and many more" at everyone else's birthdays.

I can't wait until I see her again in heaven.  So thankful that she is in a peaceful, happy place with our Heavenly Father.

We will always love you and forever miss you while we are apart!

It's been a year.  A year since I got that phone call from Mom saying that Pap-poo was finally at peace and in heaven.  A year since the world lost a wonderful, loving, fun friend, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  A year since my heart was changed.  A year since the lives of those left behind were changed forever.

We miss Pap-poo as much today as we did a year ago.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of her.  So thankful for all of the time I did have with my special Pap-poo and that my girls got to know her, too.

Eleven months Pap-poo has been gone.  Our lives have changed so much.  People said it's going to get better, but that's not true.  Life will be forever changed for those left behind.  I think of her every day.

I find so much comfort knowing that Pap-poo is in heaven.  I am thankful for the cardinal's song as it reminds me so much of her.  The song is so distinct and special--just like Pap-poo,

Ten months without my Pap-poo seems like an eternity on one hand and yet, the time has gone so fast.  This will be my first birthday without Pap-poo there singing "And many more!"  I am so thankful for the fun we had together!

Having this bunny out at Easter made me feel like Pap-poo was there.   Glad Mom put it up.  :)

I can't believe that it has been nine months since Pap-poo went to heaven.  I missed her at Easter.  Pap-poo would be happy to know that the tradition of the Bunny Cake was continued!

Today is also Cathy Lynn's birthday.  They had a special bond.   To this day, Cathy Lynn will say "Pap-poo" in the sweetest, little voice when she sees a picture of her.  It makes me tear up every time.

Eight months ago my Pap-poo went to be with the Lord.  I still miss her dearly.  I love this picture because Pap-poo is holding The Mini Page.   She loved reading/doing that page every week. I liked helping her with the hidden pictures!

Seven months my sweet Pappoo has been gone.  She overcame so much on this earth.  She was a fighter for sure.

I see a lot of her in my girls..their love for nature, crafts, each other.

Missed Pappoo's "and many more" this year at Emily's birthday.  Hard to believe this photo was taken about 4 years ago.

Christmas was not the same without Pap-poo.  I remember us looking for new recipes to try out for dinner.  One that has been around forever are the ham balls.  It just wouldn't be Christmas without those ham balls or Pap-poo's meatballs.

She always looked so pretty with her red or green dress on and an apron.  I miss that smile and her warm hugs.

I can't believe that it has been a little over six months since she left us.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about her.

Pap-poo had a full life that was full of love to and from so many.  Even Cathy Lynn remembers her and very clearly says "Pap-poo" when she sees a picture of her.

Five months ago my life changed forever.  Thanksgiving was hard without Pap-poo.  I missed making stuffing with her and "the girls" this year and chatting with her while we stuffed the celery.

I still remember my last visits with Pap-poo so vividly.  In memory of her today, I wore this pin.

Emily said she wanted to remember Pap-poo today, too, so she got out her cuddly cardinal during quiet time.

We will miss you every day until we see you again.

Four months ago heaven gained another angel.  I will never forget when I got the news that Pap-poo had passed away.  I was so thankful she went peacefully, but so, so sad that she was not here with us anymore.

I miss her so much.  Her voice, laugh, hugs and kisses.  

It has helped me even more to live for the moment and to remember that "someday" is today.  Don't put off forgiving that person who wronged you, telling someone you love them or doing something you've been wanting to do for yourself or someone else.  You are only promised today.

I love you Pap-poo and miss you so very much.

Three months ago my life was changed forever.  My heart still aches and longs to hear Pappoo's laugh and see that smile.

I am sad for my girls who won't get to know Pappoo like I did and that Pappoo won't get to see what great women they will grow to be.

The cardinal's song outside my bedroom window has been quite strong the last couple of mornings.  Makes me think of Pappoo and her love of cardinals.

I've been missing her A LOT lately.  Take time to listen to the birds, smell the roses and enjoy the little things in life.  It goes by too fast.

Oh, to sit and hold her hand and hug her.

Looking at old pictures on Pap-poo's birthday and came across this one.  Emily wanted a big one printed out for herself (which of course, I did).  When I showed it to Cathy Lynn, her little face lit up so!  

Even the "little people" miss our Pap-poo!

Two months ago Pappoo left this earth, but she will never leave my heart.  I miss kissing her on both cheeks and nuzzling into her neck when I would leave the house.  That's the hardest part for me when someone passes on - not being able to touch them.

I miss her so. :'(

I really missed my Pap-poo on her birthday.  Can't remember a birthday that I wasn't there with her.  I know she will have "many more" days now that she is in Heaven.  Still, it hurts.

So many wonderful memories growing up across the street from my " second mom ". Making fried bologna sandwiches with Cathy in your kitchen on Sunday mornings after church, soaking up all of your wonderful advice as you patiently listened to my " problems" and all of the great drama that occured between your front door and mine with family and friends.May you rest in peace until the rest of us get there ! Heaven is lucky to have you.

Nothing that I could write could express the feelings that I feel when it comes to you.  You were a great friend. Dear Myrna,
