It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Nancy Caldwell (Weetman) Gordon on February 21, 2025. Born in Washington, DC, she spent her life in Arlington, VA. Nancy was the cherished daughter of Marion and Rodney Caldwell and one of four siblings, Rodney (Yolanda) Caldwell, Richard (Linda) Caldwell, and predeceased by her beloved twin sister, Janet (Earl) Fauver.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Nancy dedicated her life to serving others. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through both joy and sorrow. Nancy was first married to Barry (Ellwood) Weetman, who passed away in 1969, and later to David Gordon, who predeceased her in 2020. She was the loving mother of four children; her son Barry Weetman, Jr. predeceased her, and she is survived by her three children—Marion (Glenn) Webb, Sharon (John) Weber, and Susan (Paul Pickett) Weetman.
Nancy is also survived by her grandchildren: predeceased by Christopher Webb; survived by Emily (Kevin) Deaton, Ryan (Sarah) Weber, Laura Webb, Matthew (Caitlin) Pickett, and Benjamin Pickett. Additionally, she leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Aracely, Ethan, Norah, Owen, and Olivia.
Nancy’s commitment to community and family was evident in all that she did. She opened her Arlington, VA home as a day care, providing a nurturing, God-centered environment for young children over many years. Equally, her many years of service at Little Falls Presbyterian Church touched countless lives. Nancy will be remembered for her remarkable patience, joyful spirit, and enduring kindness.
A memorial service will be held at Columbia Garden Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, on March 7, 2025 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the children’s ministry at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, Arlington, VA.
Nancy’s legacy is one of enduring faith, unconditional love, and a life lived in joyful service. She is now with the Father and the Son in Heaven—rejoicing as she is reunited with her loved ones. May we all strive to live our lives in a manner that honors the Lord and reflects the love and grace that Nancy so generously shared.
