Teresa "Tere" Madrid

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, M. Teresa (“Tere”) Madrid, loving mother and grandmother passed away at age 83 at home with her family by her side. Tere was born on July 9, 1937 in Guatemala City to Joaquin and Marta Madrid. She is survived by her sister, Maria Rosario, her five children, Marcy, Teri, Maria (Ray), Ron (Tracy) and Cathy (Brad) and her ten grandchildren. Tere lived a full and exciting life. She retired from a long tenure at Mars Incorporated where she worked as a Marketing Properties Director. She completed two Marine Corp marathons and traveled the world. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. When she wasn't with her family she enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and zipping around Arlington County in her little blue convertible. There was no obstacle too big for her – she was a force to be reckoned with. Like the words of her favorite Frank Sinatra song . . . She did it her way. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
