William K. Owen

William K. Owen was born on July 3, 1940 in Memphis, TN and died from natural causes December 31, 2011 in Falls Church VA. He was on active duty in the United States Navy from 1958 - 1960 then followed by several years of Naval reserves .

Bill loved to travel. Egypt and African safaris amongst his favorite travel locations. His hobbies also included photography, scuba diving, and longtime Trip Director of Shillelaghs Travel Club. He had served as a civilian employee for the Federal Government and worked as a travel agent for Quality Travel Services in McLean, VA.

Proceeded in death by his mother Tallaula Louise Owen, father James Carlton Owen, sister Sandra K Welker, sister Molly Sossaman and long time companion Rosemarie Borchardt. Survived by his uncle Alfred Wilson, Rosemarie's sons Jonthan Rintels and Peter Rintels, niece Tammy J. Welker Ege, nephews Richard K. Welker, Brian Heindel and Jason Sossaman.

Bill traveled around the world; he climbed the ancient pyramids and kissed the Blarney stone. Now he has traveled home to his family waiting with open arms, and his Father sitting on the throne.

Services will be held at Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads, 3440 South Jefferson St., Falls Church, VA 22041 on Saturday Jan. 21, 2012 at 10:30. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heifer International at www.Heifer.org.
