Chris was born in Vancouver on July 31, 1961. He graduated from Britannia Secondary in 1979, received a Diploma of Fine Arts from Langara Community College in 1981, and earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia in 1985. His many careers included managerial roles in the home improvement and auto industries.
Chris was generous and kind and made many long-lasting friendships over the years. He also had many interests in his life. Chris loved drawing, Jazz, San Francisco, books, history, coffee, and the occasional Cuban cigar. An avid walker, Chris would take almost daily walks in his East Vancouver neighborhood, often stopping along the way to take photos of his neighborhood and talk to people he met on his regular walking routes. Never a day would go by where Chris wouldn’t have his usual cup of morning espresso and he would end his day with a cup of tea.
Chris married his high school sweetheart Suzie. Chris and Suzie shared many happy years together including many adventurous trips to San Francisco. They shared their love of gardening in their backyard on beautiful summer days. The highlight of Chris’ life was when his son Cameron was born in 2002. To Chris, his family was everything. He had a deep love for Cameron, and they shared a strong bond. Many father and son evenings were spent listening to music and talking about life. Chris, his wife Suzie, and Cameron went on a trip of a lifetime to the U.K. this June.
Chris’ last day was spent doing something he had planned for over two years. He went on that one-day adventure and had the time of his life. Chris had a love for life, and he shared that love with all the people he’s touched. Chris is survived by his loving wife Suzie and his son Cameron.
Chris will be laid to rest at a private family service.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wellerfh.com for the Mah family.
