

Freda Ann Slack, 66, passed away March 1, 2016, at Providence Hospital in Everett, WA, after complications with an ongoing illness. Freda was born March 16, 1949, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, WA, to Leo and Shirley F. Holz. She graduated in 1967 from Arlington High School, in Arlington, WA. A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Freda also worked at Bayliner Marine, helping to build boats. She loved to travel, go on motorcycle rides, and spend time with her family. She made friends wherever she went; she could always make you laugh or smile. She was caring, strong, outgoing, beautiful, and the most wonderful sassy woman you would ever meet.
Freda is survived by her husband, John "Pat" Patrick Slack, Jr., of Arlington, WA; her son Cory (Jennifer) Slack, of Monroe, WA, and grandchildren Emily, Cooper, & Haley; her daughter Tiha (Eric) Westom and grandchildren Kenney and Kaylee; her father, Leo Holz, of Bellingham, WA; her brothers Dale Holz, John (Diane) Holz, Bill Pinkey, Tom Pinkey, and Dan Holz; her sisters Pam Crosby, Cathy (Levi) Osborn, Julie (Dale) Fulfs, Jennifer Briskey, Sue Vanderyacht, and Carla Postlewait. Preceding her in death were her mother, Shirley Holz, her stepmother Shirley Lou Holz, father-in-law John Patrick Slack, Sr., and her mother-in-law, Aletha Jeanette Queen.
A memorial service will be held at the Rhodes River Ranch in Oso, WA, on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the OSO Fire Department.
