

Raymond E Saddler, Jr., passed away September 18, 2022, in Snohomish, WA. He was born to Ray Saddler, Sr. and Doris (Laxton) Bagal November 4, 1938, in Chicago, IL. Ray spent just shy of 11 years serving our country in the United States Army. He was a Green Beret, serving in the 14th Calvary, 82nd Airborne, 550th Light Armored Airborne, NATO clearance, and protecting the East/West German border, 24th Infantry Division, 7th Army Tank Gunnery, 7th Army NCO graduate. Ray was assigned to Troop A, 2nd Recon Squad, 8th Cavalry, 4th Infantry Division Brigade.
Ray retired from the military and after a few years was able to open an electrical motor repair company, Canyon Motor Rewind, working side-by-side with his wife Virginia. Ray served as a regional officer of all levels of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) from 1982-2000. Ray and Virginia had the company going for 37 years.
Ray married Virginia Lind, June 3, 1958. Ray was a loving, loyal, committed, husband always available to guide and instruct with love. Ray was father, to Eryn-Ray Saddler, William (Billy Saddler), Dee Cummings (Kelvin), Ken Saddler (Celina Brewer), Donita Scott (Jeff), Tanya Jackson (Tim Jackson). Grandfather and great grandfather to Miranda Saddler-Reisman (Regan Reisman), Melissa Saddler (Conner and Payton Maxwell), Vikki Carpenter (Rhilea {RJ} Carpenter, Skylar {Sky} Jinotti-Carpenter, Daniel Mellenberger (Dallon Kukowski-Mellengerger, Blake Kukowski, Daven and Wesley Mellengerger), Reality Cummings, Curtis Cardoza (Cruz and Camilla Cardoza), Kaitlyn Silva (baby to be announced), Amanda Jackson, Katy Jackson, Travis Scott, Haley Scott (Ayla Brown), and Mahhii Cummings.
As a child, Ray sang in a gospel on the radio in Chicago. He was danced on roller skates as a teen and won competitions with his skating partner. He would frequently burst out in a song, singing spiritual songs as well as the old classics, sometimes doing a little jig. He had a passion for gardening and love for animals, providing feed for the birds and squirrels that visited him. He loved to cook and often created his own recipes. His greatest passion was his family, finding the greatest joy in loving them.
Ray is preceded in death by two children Eryn Ray and William (Billy) Saddler, and his brother Edward Saddler.
Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia (Ginger) Saddler of Granite Falls, four children Dee/Doris Cummings (Kelvin), Ken Saddler (Celina), Donita Scott (Jeff), Tanya Jackson, and Tim Jackson, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
