William Allen Wasmund Jr.

Bill was born at Seattle General Hospital in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in the Wallingford neighborhood, a place that always remained close to his heart. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life marked by duty, resilience, and quiet strength.

Bill enjoyed life’s simple and meaningful pleasures—fishing, golfing, and most of all, spending time with his family. Family, to Bill, was not limited by blood. He had a rare gift for welcoming people in and making them feel they belonged. From the family his beloved wife Suzie brought into his life, to Kaja’s friends April, Jodi, and many others over the years, Bill’s door and heart were always open. If you were near him long enough, you were family.

He is survived by Kaja Knight (fiancé Patrick) of Arlington, Washington; his bonus son Brad Hanshaw (wife Shannon) of Arlington, Washington; bonus daughters Taral Cope (husband Darrin) of Arlington, Washington, and Bambi Olason (husband Nick) of Vancouver, Washington.

He was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren: Casey, Gregory, Michael, Brandon, Cheyenne, Kylie, Gage, Cole, Cameron, Bryce, Aiden, Jaxon, Harrison, Amber, Conner, Ian, and Leesie, and a loving great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren: Rachael, Mya, Olivia, Elizabeth, Caiden, Bexli, Brison, Blaekli, and Gene.

Bill is also survived by his sisters Debby Herrera and Sue Peterson, by cousins who were more like siblings, Steve Antonsen and Penny Massie, and his nieces Maribeliza, Haylay, Brieanna, and nephews Clint and Shawn.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Suzie Wasmund, who no doubt welcomed him into the afterlife they will now share for eternity. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Beth Chapman, mother, Norma Wormdahl, and his father, William Wasmund Sr.

Bill will be remembered for his warmth, his steady presence, and his ability to make everyone feel at home. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the family he built, and the love he gave so freely.
