Betty L. Looney

Betty L. Looney (nee Hovis) age 91 of Arnold, MO passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024. She was born May 5, 1933 at Buckhorn, MO. She was the daughter of Clark and Ruby (nee Pope) Hovis who preceded her in death.

She was married August 16, 1964 to the late Walter G. Looney. They have a daughter Elizabeth (Rickey) James and a son Walter Joseph (Jennifer) Looney. Loving grandmother of Eric James and Taylor, Dylan, Caleb and Hannah Looney and the late Travis James; dear sister of Gene Hovis, Ron Hovis, Layne Hovis, Carol McLard, Sharon Evenstad and the late Don Hovis and Kathryn Rhodes.

Betty graduated from Southeast University in Cape Girardeau, MO and received her Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a teacher in the Fox School District for 25 years and a member of South County Baptist Church.

A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010. Funeral service will be celebrated Saturday September 7, 10:30 am at South County Baptist Church 12995 Tesson Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128. Visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of service. Services will conclude at the church. There will not be a procession to the cemetery.
