What can I say about my Momma, the woman who nursed me through skinned knees to sunburns, strep throat to broken hearts? She was the most selfless person I have even known. She really had a way of putting things in perspective. She was not all words but a woman of action. She laughingly told me once about the first time my Dad asked her if she wanted to take a ride with him to the gas stationshe spent much of the rest of her life in gas stations. She didn't regret one mile. When my Jennifer was born in Hurricane Diane, they drove straight through from St. Louis to Jacksonville, NC to pick up Mary, Jenni and I to get us inland as far as my Dad could drive. Jenni was two days old and Mary was 13 months. They made sure through their actions we knew we were loved. The last few years I had the privilege of living with her. Even through her suffering she was still concerned about everyone else. What a wonderful example for all of us. I can say, she was among other things; amazing, patient, loving, generous, funny, observant, hard-working, encouraging, talented, kind-hearted...mostly she is missed. Thank you God for giving me this beautiful woman for my Momma!

My mother was the most loving and caring person I have ever known.  She could do anything she put her mind to and was always willing to share whatever she had with others.

As a child I was blessed to be born with her beautiful brown eyes, and so happy when my daughter, Mandy, was born with them too.  Mother always spoiled me.  When I was young she used to bring me breakfast in bed and stay up late at night rubbing my legs when I was having leg cramps. She cooked me hamburgers for almost every meal because that is all I would eat.  She made me chicken and dumplings for Thanksgiving because I didn't care for turkey.  Even after I got married I remember calling her because I was not feeling well and she had dad bring her to my house to make me French toast to make me feel better.  She always made me feel loved.  To this day I still sleep under a comforter that she made me because I feel her arms around me and it makes me feel safe.  

All of my memories of my mom are happy ones.  We were always playing games or having fun doing something.  She was the first person I called whenever anything happened in my life, good or bad.  I just feel lost without her!  I know life will never be the same, but I will cling to these happy memories and try to live the best life I can, following her example.

From the first moment I entered their home almost 42 years ago I was treated as a daughter.  I never doubted I was loved and accepted.  I did not deserve such love, but it was given to me freely. I don't have the words to express how grateful I am to Father God for blessing me so greatly in this.  Mom reinforced many things in me: work with all your might, love with everything in you, be generous whenever possible, keep a smile on your face even when hurting, don't complain because it only makes things seem worse, and so much more.  I once told her she was my mentor.  She replied, "Oh honey, you surely could find someone better."  That was the only time I remember disagreeing with her.  I often told her, "Thank you for rearing such an amazing son for me to marry."  She loved hearing it and always told me so.  Proverbs 31 describes who she was perfectly.

I have been blessed with the most wonderful mother a woman could have. She was not only my loving mom, but also my teacher, friend, and closest confidant. I could always count on her unconditional love and wise counsel. Her sharp wit and fun nature brought laughter into my life. Her deep faith and creative mind inspired me. She taught me that I could do anything that I set my mind to do with some degree of success. Her presence, prayers, and encouraging words will be sorely missed. I will praise God for blessing me with her and my amazing daddy as long as I live.

Grandma was a kind, caring, compassionate women. She loved her collections, her family, and her faith in Jesus Christ. Even though I know she is in a better place, she will missed. Everyday I strive to be more like her with the same type of faith she had.

Betty was the best mother in law a person could ever have.    She was a loving, kind and generous person. She was an avid doll collector and quilter.  She loved to play games with her family.  She will be missed.    I was sorry to be out of the country at the time of her passing.

My grandma was the most loving, generous, and caring woman I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Every day, I strive to be more like her. She was strong, independent, stubborn, and beautiful - inside and out. I hope to be just like her and will always cherish our memories together. I love you grandma!

 Grandma was simply one of the most loving, generous, and kind people I have ever known. I have been so blessed to have her as a role model for so many years. It is my prayer that we will continue her legacy of love each day. Since it hurts too bad to say goodbye, I will say until we meet again! Love you!

Grandma was the type of person I aspire to be. She was kind, intelligent, capable, compassionate, generous and overall refreshing to be around. Even though I know she is in a better place, it is hard to accept that she is gone. I can only hope that those around me (particularly my daughter) will get to experience her through the light she left in me.

While I don't know the whole Simino family, I do know Doug, and I know how much he loved his mother.  The stories he has mentioned made her sound like a fantastic woman and I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  Your entire family is in my prayers.

Betty was such a wonderful, sweet woman.  She treated me like family even after I wasn't legally family.  Kind, funny, great cook, great gardner and flower grower, collector, beautiful quilter are just a few of the words that describe this wonderful lady.  She was loved by all and will be missed.  I'm sure she's beating Dad at Head and Foot and he's fussing by now!  Love you Mother - Jana

My memories are so very nice of Aunt Bettye in that all my visits spending time playing with Susie, Doug and Pam always warm my heart. My Aunt always made sure the swimming pool was clean, good treats to eat and always showed her love to the family. She was my favorite Aunt on my Dad's side... I miss our times together and her laughter.
