Floy Dimples Myers, age 101, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, in her home in Arnold, Missouri, surrounded by the love and compassion of her family. She has lived a long, rich life, deeply connected to her family and faith.
Floy was born on October 8, 1923, in Ellington, Missouri, the daughter of George Harrison Counts and Leona Sweeney.
Floy was united in marriage to James Willard Myers, and together they shared over 67 devoted years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Their marriage was a source of strength, joy and companionship.
She was blessed with and is survived by her five children and their spouses: James Michael Myers and Sherry, Nancy Louise DeNoyer and Pat, Stephen Myers and Sherry, Maria Elizabeth Counts and Gerry, and David Philip Myers and Karen. Floy’s legacy continues to live on through her 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren - all of whom brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life.
A woman of enduring faith, Floy was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ, formerly known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving faithfully for 93 years. Her deep commitment to her faith and congregation was a guiding force throughout her life, and she was loving presence in her community and among her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Community of Christ, 3600 Waverly Ave., East St. Louis, IL 62204.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East St. Louis Congregation, c/o Community of Christ, 2002 Dohack Dr., Arnold, MO 63010.
Floy will be lovingly remembered for her strong spirit, steadfast love, deep faith, and the grace with which she lived more than a century of life.
