Jack D. McLard Sr.

Jack D. McLard Sr. of Imperial, MO passed away, peacefully surrounded by his family, on October 6, 2019. He was born on March 12, 1935 in Neely's Landing, MO to the late William H. and Nellie M. (nee Meyer) McLard.

During his lifetime, Jack proudly served his country during the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post #253 in Festus, MO. Jack diligently worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for over 30 years. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge # 441 of Jackson, MO.

Above all else, Jack’s greatest joy and honor was serving as the patriarch of his family. Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Janet L. McLard (nee Kinder). Jack was the proud father of Jack D. McLard Jr., Jean E. (Gary) Driver, Karen D. (Jim) Bucklew and Joyce L. (Timonthy) Evans. He was a wonderful grandfather to John See, Michael See, Shawn McLard, Ashlyn (James) McCarthy, Jamie L. (Ethan) Holloway, Kara D. Bucklew, Jaclyn Y. McLard and Derrick W. Wallace-McLard. He was a fabulous great grandfather to Kaelea See, Ericka See, Emmett Holloway, Tessalyn Holloway, and Rowan Bucklew-Gammons. Jack was the beloved brother of Alma Smith, Cecil (Betty) McLard, Lillie Bagley, and Shirley (C.J.) Johnson. Jack is preceded in death by his siblings Velma Craiglow and Fred McLard. Jack was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, MO 63010. Funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 10:00 am at New Hope Methodist Church, 3921 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, MO with visitation 9:00 am until time of service. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery with full Military Honors.
