Shirley Jean Branson

Shirley Jean Branson (nee Grisham) of Arnold, MO. passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020. She was born on March 2, 1934 in Elvins, MO to the late Ralph and Mildred (nee Schulte) Grisham; beloved wife of the late Elmo Dewayne Branson; loving mother of Kent Dewayne Branson, Kevin Elmo (Rita) Branson and Kimberly Gaye (Robert) Stovall; loving grandmother of Nate Stovall, Renee Branson, Robyn (Kyle) Wand, Kent Branson II, Casey Branson, Kyle Branson, Christian Stovall, Abigail (Garrett) Korn, Kristin Branson, Bethany Branson, Koel Branson, Erin Branson and Kate Branson; great grandmother of Malachi Wand and Mirabelle Wand; dear sister of the late Bob (Pete) Grisham, Edward (Jo Ann) Grisham and Paul Grisham.

Shirley attended Flat River Jr. College, where she fell in love with Elmo Branson. Then she attended University of Missouri - Columbia where she earned her Education Degree in Math. She later got her Masters Degree plus 45 hours. She and Elmo were married on Fort Jackson army base on June 18, 1955.

They raised their kids in Florissant and Arnold, Missouri. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Arnold. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 10:00 am at Hope Vineyard Church, 2923 Telegraph Rd. St. Louis, MO 63125, with visitation at Hope Vineyard Church on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 5-8 pm. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery.
