Andrew Adam Grimm Sr., 80, of Ashland, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Brethren Care Village. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 29, 1942 to the late Andrew and Anna (Kickel) Grimm.
Andrew graduated class of 1960 from Parma High. He retired from General Hone Corp. after working 40 years as a machinist. He married his wife, Victoria Kopcho, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Parma on February 1, 1964, enjoying more than 50 years of marriage. Together, they later moved to Ashland. They became members of St. Edwards Catholic Church in 1978, where Andrew served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the local St. Edward’s Knights of Columbus.
An avid fan of sports, Andrew loved watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed watching big bands play, especially the OSU marching band. In his spare time, he loved to read, watch movies and spend time with his family whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed.
Andrew is survived by his children, Lisa (David) Clark and Andrew (Kimberly) Grimm Jr.; grandchildren, Megan Bowman, Zachary (Krystal) Clark, Trevor (Tori Emery) Clark, Brittany (Jason) Schuttera, Kyle (Emily) Grimm and Justin Grimm; great-grandchildren, Gage, Kaiden, Connor, Kiam, Zila, Jack, Colter and Owen; and many other cherished family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Victoria Grimm; sons, Robert Grimm and Michael Grimm; and brother-in-law, Nick Kopcho.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Wappner Funeral Directors of Ashland, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, OH 44805. A vigil service will follow beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Edward Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, OH 44805 with Father Rodney Kreidler officiating. He will be laid to rest in Imhoff Cemetery in Ashland. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Edward’s Knights of Columbus in Ashland or to St. Edward Church.
