Diane Patricia Claytor

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jesse Claytor Jr.; parents, Jesse and Emma Walton; sister, Phyllis Mierle; and great-grandson, August Loy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Nuckols (Greg), Renee Thompson (Happy), and Kevin Claytor (Donna); seven grandchildren, Lucas, Delaney, Skylar (Josh), Zachary (Emily), Emily (Kelsey), Kyle, and Lori; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Analeigh, and Alena.

She attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church for many years. Diane dedicated her younger years employed with Safeway and proceeded to care for multiple generations of children and grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family playing solitaire, Uno, word puzzles, and candy crush. She enjoyed catching up with her lifelong friend, Frances Ozmar. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 4 pm and again from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, VA 23069
