Obituary of Doris Ann Davis
Doris Ann Bauserman Davis of Beaverdam, Virginia, passed away at Retreat Hospital, Richmond, Virginia, on February 7, 2020, at the age of 86. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wilson Davis, her parents, Bessie Mae and Hubert King Bauserman, Sr., her sisters, Sadie Sutphin (George), Alma Sutherland (Clarence), Irene Wintermyer (Tommy), Linda Knapp and her brother, Charles Bauserman (Gloria). Doris came from a large, cohesive and nurturing family of 15 children. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard Bradley, her son, David Davis, (Marnie Triscari), her daughter, Deborah Fuqua (Jock Fuqua), her granddaughters, Amber Hawkins-Stigall (Chris) and Lindsey Davis Aurigemma (Erik), her grandsons, Zachary Davis and Joshua Fuqua (Anne), her great grandsons, Jaxson Hawkins, Dalton Hawkins and Riley Hawkins, her great granddaughters, Reece Stigall, Brettley Stigall, Gracie Fuqua and Julia Fuqua, step great grandchildren, Brodie, Peyton and Kaylisa. Her caring step-children, Lynn Bradley and Lorrie Bradley- Ferrall (Kate Bradley-Ferrall, Clair and Annie). Her devoted siblings, sisters, Katie Davis, Jean Monroe (Johnny), Betty Cronk, Martha Helmandollar (Darwin), Diane Bauserman and brothers, Hubert Bauserman, Jr., Warren Bauserman (Barbara), Floyd Bauserman (Lois) and Leroy Bauserman (Carolyn). Doris shared a special relationship with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family as well. Doris was born on February 21, 1933, in Alexandria, Virginia. She spent most of her life in Beaverdam after moving from Alexandria in 1968. Doris was a longtime and stalwart member of Rouzie’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Beaverdam. Doris worked in the administrative dietician’s office at Alexandria Hospital. She also operated a country store in Beaverdam. She was retired from Robert Shaw in Richmond, Virginia. Doris was devoted to her family and spent her life as a nurturer. She had a green thumb and a fondness for gardening. She also enjoyed spending time listening to gospel and bluegrass music. Doris will be remembered for her cooking talents and her timeless recipes. The funeral service will be held at Rouzie’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 21089 Green Bay Rd, Beaverdam, Virginia, on February 15, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Owen Taylor officiating. Interment to follow at The Bauserman Family Cemetery, Green Bay Rd., Beaverdam. A celebration of life will take place at The Bauserman Family Hunt Club immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Bauserman Family Cemetery Fund.
