Eleanor Bessie Thurston, 91, of Ashland, passed away September 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie and Willie Thurston, Sr. and brother, Willie Thurston, Jr. She retired from Hanover County Extension Office with many years of service and was an active member at Winn’s Baptist Church. Eleanor is survived by several cousins, special friends, and dedicated friend, Alvin Loving. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home- Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005.
