Eliza "Betty" Pearl West, 88, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Marcellus and Mary Davis and was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert West and 2 sons, Bobby Alvis and Billy Alvis. Betty always enjoyed animals and had birds and dogs of her own that she affectionately referred to as "her babies." She is survived by her brother, Melvin Davis (Rachel); sister, Berta Mae Proffitt and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
