

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Pamela Marshall Stevenson; their children John Cantey Stevenson III (Heather), Marshall Barret Stevenson (Cassie), and Hugh Chandler Stevenson (Amineh); his Stevenson grandchildren Hugh, Will, Elspeth, Meg, Gracie, and Henry; and fondly remembered cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents John C. Stevenson and Elizabeth Cox Stevenson, and brother James Pendelton “Pen” Stevenson.
Jack was born in Richmond on November 14, 1935, and grew up in Ashland. He graduated from Henry Clay High School, then Randolph Macon College, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard, and was fortuitously stationed in Honolulu, where he met his wife, Pam, a student from Vancouver, BC, on Waikiki Beach.
Jack attended graduate school at Rutgers then worked at Chase Manhattan Bank on Wall Street. He continued his banking career in Richmond at State Planters Bank, United Virginia Bank and Crestar, retiring from Municipal Finance at Virginia Resources Authority.
He was a faithful member of Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Richmond for 60 years, serving on the Vestry, as head Usher, Sunday School teacher, and in many other roles. In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to Grace and Holy Trinity Church ghtc.org/give/.
