Katherine L. Hill

Hill, Katherine “Kitty”, 89, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hill and two children, Diane and Bradley. She is survived by her sons, Ricky Hill (Nancy), Ronnie Hill (Nancy) and Bryan Hill (Eileen); daughter, Kimberly Van Scyoc (Chad); 4 grandchildren, Mouse Barry (John), Stefanie Garrett, Nicholas Driscoll, and Brandon Hill; 6 great grandchildren, Haley, Carson, Branson, Heath (Dianne), Zack, and Ian; 2 great-great grandchildren, Curtis and Charlie; sister, Norma Ritscher; and her dear friend and companion, Christine Ivey. She graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA in 1943. She and her husband were charter members of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Richmond, VA. After the death of her husband in 1971, Katherine lovingly and tirelessly devoted her life to family. Katherine retired from Life of Virginia Insurance Company. Kitty was also a life-long Redskins fan and looked forward to Sunday afternoons. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Hwy., Falls Church, VA 22042. Katherine’s physical presence will be missed, but she leaves behind so many fond memories that she will always be with us, and her “Kitty-isms” will continue to make us smile.
