Whiteside, Lena K., 78, of Ashland, passed away on February 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Mary Florence Wood, Thomas Harris, and Ellen McDougle. She is survived by her husband, Nelson L. Whiteside; two children, Bobby Whiteside (Linda) and Deborah Whiteside; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jaclyn, Zachary, Windy and Ryan; three great grandchildren, Kami, Mya, and Asher; three sisters, Erma Traylor, Ruth Traylor and Ethel Wyndham. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Interment will be at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
