Lesly Denise Stanfield

Lesly Denise Cauthorn Stanfield, 53, of Ashland, passed away on December 4, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, John Leslie Cauthorn; and paternal grandparents, Howard and Etta Cauthorn. She is survived by her husband, Clyde A. Stanfield “Tony”; her mother, Gay L. Cauthorn; son, William B. Carneal III; three grandchildren, Tara Grace Carneal, Emma Faith Carneal and Liam Patrick Carneal; sister, Debra C. Goodman (David); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, great-nieces and nephews. Lesly was a member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and worked for Patrick Buick GMC as a receptionist. Lesly was an avid animal lover. She went to live with Jesus after a year illness. Many thanks to family and friends and the doctors and staff at Bon Secours St. Mary’s for all of their compassionate care. The family will receive friends Monday, December 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 8, at 11 a.m. at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., Ashland, Va. 23005. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Grove UMC or to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
