Lucy Meredith Harris passed quietly November 12, 2016 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and survived by her 5 children, Lois (Lewis), Robert Jr (Angela), Bobbie (Alan), Stanley (Patricia) and Brian (Stacey), 13 grand-children and 4 great grand-children. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was well loved by all for her deep commitment to her family and friends and her willing self-sacrifice. Lucy will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their whole-hearted gratitude to the care provided by AseraCare and Chestnut Grove Assisted Living. The family will welcome friends and family Saturday, 2-4pm, and 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, Ashland, Va. A service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Montpelier, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to your local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.
