Norman Wesley Arnold Sr.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Mervin Arnold; his mother, Laura Lucille Arnold Pemberton; and his sister, Joyce Butler.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Arnold; their children, Cheryl Driver (Kevin), Norman Wesley Arnold, Jr, (Jennifer), Rodney Arnold (Ivy), Kelly Buttner (Jimmy), and Steve Nixon (Angie); former daughter-in-law Megan; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and his brother, Carl Mervin Arnold (Peggy).

Mr. Arnold served in the U. S. Army and loved horses, fishing, boating, golfing, camping and hunting. He was a member of the Western Riders, James River Driving Club, the Richmond-East Moose Lodge, and the Doswell Ruritan Club. He worked hard and played hard.

Mr. Arnold was employed as a Fire Fighter with the City of Richmond Fire Department for thirty years and as a self-employed Plumber for over fifty-five years.

The family will receive friends and family at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 South Washington Highway, Ashland on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm, with Funeral Service at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
