Hope, Robert Meredith (Bob), 49, of Bumpass, passed away on February 22, 2014. He is the son of Lorraine Yeamans Hope and the late William Davis Hope. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dawn Starkes-Hope; two sons, William (Jake) Hope and James Robert Hope; three siblings, Melinda Hope Ray (Alan), William H. Hope, and Faith Hope Bentley; mother-in-law, Irene Starkes; brother-in-law, Vincent Starkes; eight nieces; two nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church Ashland. He was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and was an active Boy Scout leader in Pack and Troop 706 for over 10 years. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church Ashland, 800 Thompson St., Ashland, VA 23005. Interment will be at Hopeful Baptist Church cemetery.
